Mullabrack Fund
Raising Evening
On
Saturday night Mullabrack GFC ran a “night at the races” with a
difference. Rather than the normal video screen, the event required
greater involvement from local people from the parish. It was a five
horse race with 7 races on the card, however it involved 5 wooden
horses tied to a piece of string which over a short distance had to
be wound in by the jockey. With a number of our Mullabrack ladies
and men acting as jockeys the evening proved to be full of
entertainment and fun.
With the winner of each race going forward to the final the last
race proved a competitive affair with Emma Fields and Joan Murphy
our two ladies representatives up against a strong contingent from
the Mullabrack men of Philip McGeown, Declan McAllister and Dara
Donnelly. With the ladies getting a very slight head start it was
sheer determination and technique that saw Joan Murphy triumph on
the evening. Congratulations to Joan on a well fought victory.
The club would like to take this opportunity to thank sincerely our
sponsors for the evening and would encourage everyone to show them
support.
