Lisbrack v St Enda's

Lisbrack Under 16s secured their first win of the season when they travelled to Grange to take on St Endas on 5/5/08.

Both teams were short players and a 12 a-side match was agreed. Lisbrack proved too strong for their opponents dominating in all sectors. The first half saw a hat-trick of goals from Niamh Sutton with Rachel McGeown scoring a goal and three points. Points from the boot of Gemma Canavan and Ciara Gallogly completed the first half with a 4:5 to 0:2 lead.

Lisbrack continued to heap the pressure on the St Endas defence with midfields Leanne Murray and Emma Fields adding points. Rachael scored a further goal and two points and Niamh added a point to bring the final tally to 5:11 to 0:3.

This was a very good team performance from all twelve girls, Saoirse Farrell in nets was well protected by full-back Faye Rice who snuffed out any danger assisted by Eimear Nugent, Aideen Farrell and Frances Boyce. Ciara Gallogly was the extra defender who helped in midfield and set up numerous attacks. Leanne Murray and Emma Fields worked hard in the midfield area sending in good ball to the forwards. Niamh O‘Hanlon and Gemma Canavan laid the ball on to the scoring threat of Rachael McGeown and Niamh Sutton who between them scored 5:6.
