Lisbrack v St Enda's
Lisbrack Under 16s secured their first win of the season when
they travelled to Grange to take on St Endas on 5/5/08.
Both teams were short players and a 12 a-side match was agreed.
Lisbrack proved too strong for their opponents dominating in all
sectors. The first half saw a hat-trick of goals from Niamh Sutton
with Rachel McGeown scoring a goal and three points. Points from the
boot of Gemma Canavan and Ciara Gallogly completed the first half
with a 4:5 to 0:2 lead.
Lisbrack continued to heap the pressure on the St Endas defence
with midfields Leanne Murray and Emma Fields adding points. Rachael
scored a further goal and two points and Niamh added a point to
bring the final tally to 5:11 to 0:3.
This was a very good team performance from all twelve girls,
Saoirse Farrell in nets was well protected by full-back Faye Rice
who snuffed out any danger assisted by Eimear Nugent, Aideen Farrell
and Frances Boyce. Ciara Gallogly was the extra defender who helped
in midfield and set up numerous attacks. Leanne Murray and Emma
Fields worked hard in the midfield area sending in good ball to the
forwards. Niamh O‘Hanlon and Gemma Canavan laid the ball on to the
scoring threat of Rachael McGeown and Niamh Sutton who between them
scored 5:6.
