Pearse Og Gaelic
Blitz
Mullabrack U16 ladies
represented the club at the annual Pearse Og Gaelic blitz at
Ballycrummey. The ladies started off with a very competitive win
against Stewartstown with a score of 2:4 to 3 points in favour of
Mullabrack.
The second match against Tullysaran proved a
more difficult affair. Mullabrack started well against a very tough
Tullysaran team, however the U16 ladies finished on the wrong side
of a 7 points to 4 points score.
The group matches then concluded and Mullabrack
and Stewartsown emerged as group winners and runners up. In the semi
final Mullabrack faced the runners up, Killeavey, from the second
group. Again Mullabrack showed their experience and reached the
final with a convincing score of 2:6 to 4 points.
The final between Mullabrack and the winners
from the second semi final Pearse Og, proved to be a very
competitive affair. Both teams defended strongly, however it was
Pearse Og who managed to put the ball in the back of the net which
proved the turning point in the game. The Mullabrack ladies
certainly represented the club with a great deal of pride and at the
final whistle only 1 point divided the teams. Many congratulations
to Pearse Og the eventual winners.
A
special congratulations to Faye Rice who was awarded player of the
tournament.
