Mullabrack Ladies GFC v Tir Na Og
Mullabrack senior ladies travelled to Portadown on 1/8/07 hoping
to maintain their winning form. However they came up against tough
opposition from Tir na og.
Christina Crilly opened the scoring for the visitors with a free
but Tir na Og responded scoring three points in succession to take
the lead. Niamh Sutton narrowed the gap with a point but the home
side carried the ball into the heart of the Mullabrack defence
resulting in two goals to leave the score at the interval 2:3 to
0:2.
Mullabrack started the second half well with Niamh Sutton and
Lisa Fields being fouled in the large rectangle and awarded
penalties. Christina Crilly scored points from both to narrow the
margin. Mullabrack dominated possession with Tir na Og being closed
out by midfield. However Toni Morgan was the only player to register
any scores and Tir na Og defence weathered the storm adding two
points before the final whistle to leave the result 2:5 to 0:5, the
score board not reflecting the closeness of the game.
